The Colorado Gladiators headed into 2014 with high hopes and delivered.  The 104 wins are a franchise best and are led by MVP Candidate Chris Davis.  The Gladiators were 8-4 against the Oil Barons in 2014 and have never met in post season.  This is Colorado's 2nd post season appearance (2012) and are looking to jump out fast against a very good Houston team.

The Saints are historically the best team in the TBBL with 3 World Titles and they begin the path towards the 4th in 2014.  Balance is the best way to describe this team with the strength in power RH bats.  Buster Posey and the beast Mike Stanton lead the way while Michael Wacha could be the wildcard in the rotation.  David Price should start the post season off for San Antonio.
Prediction:  San Antonio in 7 games  (Wrong!!)

I think it goes the distance but San Antonio proves to be too much.

SAN ANTONIO --

The Gladiators scored 2 in the top of the 13th, what an absolutely phe-nom-en-al series. We nearly were up 3-0 games to zero but, the Saints snatched one off of Clippard in game three (Lucas Duda bomb with 2 outs), to get the Saints back in the series.

The Saints tied it at 2-2, Colorado took game 5 (the first win for the home team in 5 games), before the Saintys took game 6 to send us the inevitable, game 7...

In game 7, the Glads were down 2-0 through 8 1/2 innings, with 50 save super-ace on the mound to close it out after a Marte leadoff hit. A Carp double, and  Blance grounder made it 2-1 before ... Eric Sogard stepped up, 0-13 in the series, and Colorado down to its last out. Sogard lined a single to center, his first hit of the series with two outs in the 9th of game 7, to tie it at 2. Amazing.

In the 11th inning, a Cervelli passed ball put runners on 2nd and 3rd with ZERO OUTS, basically the Glads were a groundout or a medium fly ball away from defeat but, we got Medica to fan, Crawford to pop to CF and, Reyes to bounce to second to send us, alive, to the 12th frame.

In the top of 13, Colorado  got some more fortune when Shane Robinson clanked Puig sharp fly to CF, putting him on 2B. Then we used the sac bunt by Marte to get the go ahead run to 3B. Mr. Super-Victorino (he has been unreal since we got him in August) floated a dunker to LF to finally get us a lead, and Pennington followed with a brilliant squeeze bunt for a 4-2 lead. Who would have though small ball would have brought the Gladiators the winning runs? I do not steal or bunt a whole lot but, it worked here.

Petit got the first two Saints out quickly but, of course, the Saints would not die with Crawford singling and Jo-Jo Bats ripping a double to put the winning run at the plate... gulp. Reyes up... fans on their feet.... fly to right... Puig squeezez it. Gladiators win!

An absolutely incredible series. Alen is an awesome manager, and that was as good as simulated baseball gets Man.

WOW :)
