The Toronto Crown Royals head into this series missing its star SS Starlin Castro due to over usage in the regular season.  Josh Harrison will slide over to the SS position and the 2B vacancy will need to be filled.  Ramon Santiago filled in at SS nicely in Rd 1.  The rotation is stacked and is the strength of the club as is the Manager who knows how to win Playoff Series in DMB.

The Jersey Damage came into 2015 with high hopes and won their first Division Title in club history.  The recently anointed MVP Victor Martinez led the club all season with a stat line pf .359-43-138 and Ace Adam Wainwright pitched better than his numbers.  Jersey won the season series 12 games to 6 but have their hands full with a stacked Toronto team and a veteran DMB manager at the helm.
Prediction:  Jersey in 7 games (Correct but in 4 games)

Jersey gets back at Toronto for knocking them out of the Post Season in 2014.

Toronto Crown Royals vs. Jersey Damage Inc

Game 1 -- Sale v Wainwright

A match up of 2 of the leagues best starters did not disappoint as the two ACE's combined for 19 Ks in the 4-1 Jersey win.  Jersey jump started the scoring in the 2nd as Justin Ruggiano singled home Adam Jones and then scored again in the 4th after an Ian Desmond HR.  Colby Rasmus answered back with a solo HR in the top of the 5th but Nelson Cruz solo shot in the bottom of the 5th ended the scoring.  Wainwright  went 8 strong allowing just 2 hits with 11 strike outs and Aroldis Champan shut the door in the 9th by striking out the side.  Jersey takes the 1 game to none lead.

Game 2 -- Ryu v Zimmermann

Another great match up of two good arms which led to a shutout win for Jersey 1-0.  Zimmermann was great in 7 innings of work allowing just 3 hits and Andrew Miller and Mark Melancon closed it out for Jersey with 1.2 scoreless innings.  Justin Ruggiano, starting his 2nd straight game knocked in the only run of the game on a groundout which followed a Pence walk and a Desmond single.  The Jersey defense was shaky in the 8th inning as Toronto had a Yelich walk, a wild pitch by Melancon and an error by Victor Martinez setting them up with men on the corners.  Adam Dunn had a chance to put Toronto on the board but struck out to end the threat.  Jersey had another error in the 9th but pinch runner Tolleson was caught stealing followed by two quick outs to end the game and give Jersey the 2-0 Series lead.

Game 3 -- Porcello v Grienke

As the series shifted to Comerica Park, Toronto was looking to get back into the series and had Zack Grienke on the hill.  The Royals jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st as Yelich led off with a bomb.  Jersey answered the run in the top of the 2nd inning aided by an error by the SS Bonifacio and an RBI single by Ian Desmond.  Toronto took the lead again in the home half of the inning after Yelich singled home Bonifacio and then scored on a Josh Harrison double to the gap.  David Ortiz homered in the 4th to draw Jersey wo within 1 run and a Nelson Cruz HR in the 6th tied the game.  Porcello gave way to the pen in the 6th inning after allowing 9 hits and 3 runs and the pen did their job by getting 10 outs, 8 of which came with the K.  In the 9th, Jersey got another HR from David Ortiz to take the 4-3 lead and Chapman closed it out in the bottom of the 9th by striking out the side giving Jersey a commanding 3-0 series lead.

Game 4 -- Tilman v Darvish

With their backs to the wall, Toronto sent Yu Darvish to the hill while Jersey countered with Chris Tilman.  Darvish would surrender his only runs in the top of the 1st allowing a single to Robinson Cano and a HR to Nelson Cruz.  Darvish and Tilman traded zero's over the next several innings until Toronto broke through in the bottom of the 8th inning with a leadoff HR by Colby Rasmus.  Aroldis Chapman entered the game to face PH Ruf who promptly singled and then Chapman walked Yelich to put Toronto runners on 1st and 2nd.  Aroldis then struck out Harrison and Werth to end the threat and he gave way to Mark Melancon who closed this one out with a strike out of Pollock to end the game and the series.

Nelson Cruz was named MVP as he had 3 HR and 4 RBI in the four games.  The Jersey pen was also dominate as they didnt allow a run in their 8 innings of work during the series.  The 4 pen arms allowed just 3 hits over those 8 innings.

Thanks to Tony for playing H2H and good luck to his Jays in the ALCS!
