2007 Draft Review

by Joe Anglin, Stone Mountain Confederates

The players in the 2007 draft have had over 4 MLB seasons and 3 DMB seasons to prove there worth. Some were one year wonders, and we knew they would be. Some made a splash for a season or two and have since faded. Some have given our teams exactly what we thought they would. Some are still peeling potatoes in the minors. Some have been a bust. Oh, but some have been outstanding the entire time. Here is a glimpse by round of the most productive players in the 2007 draft thus far. Players who have yet to make a splash in the majors were not considered in this list. Also, players who were found in later drafts are noted in this list with an (*). When you finish with the article there is a link to an opinion survey for which team had the best draft class in 2007. Three teams made the list: Carefree, Chemung and Kentucky. Hard to believe that Rocky led his Kentucky team to this list considering he did not have a draft pick until round 6.  Here is the link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/J973BSS

There may be some mistakes as to which team drafted a player as the draft register might not have accounted for some traded picks. If you see a mistake, please email me at jma091701@yahoo.com and I will fix it.
