2005 American League Division Series

THUNDER BAY, NJ -- The 2005 American League Division Series' will feature the team with the most wins in the TBBL in 2005, the Kentucky Wildcats taking on the Florida Devils.  The Devils, who had a big lead in the American League East earlier this season, limped into the playoffs despite making a blockbuster trade in July.  The Wildcats are led by the favorite to win the AL MVP, Barry Bonds.  Bonds set records in the TBBL in 2005 with 77 HR, 163 RBI, a .376 batting average, 213 walks and 205 runs scored.  The Wildcats have solid starting pitching, anchored by Curt Schilling (25-6, 3.12 ERA).  The Cats also have an excellent bullpen, perhaps the deepest in the league.  With four true closers on the postseason roster it should be no surprise to see the Cats relievers throw goose eggs throughout the series.  The Devils are just now beginning to gel after their monster deal with the Smackdown of Philadelphia.  Coming to the Devils was Alex Rodriquez, who struggled initially when asked to move back to his original position of SS.  Alex hit just .192 in his first 26 games with the Devils, smacking only 2 HR and driving in 11 runs.  The Devils have an ace of their own in Jason Schmidt, despite struggling a bit this year.  Schmidt, 14-10 with a 4.03 ERA is expected to get the ball three times in the series (if it goes 7 games).
