2005 American League Division Series

THUNDER BAY, NJ -- The 2005 American League West Division Series' will feature two exciting teams from 2005, the defending champion Richmond Rockers and the Philadelphia Smackdown.  The Rockers, who defeated the Moon Raiders in 2004 to take the first TBBL crown, will face a tough opponent in the Smackdown.  David Ortiz (.274-32-83) leads the Richmond offense along with CF Jim Edmonds (.294-40-111).  The Rockers won 90 games, 15 fewer than the Smackdown , but will have home field advantage this series.  The Smackdown come into the series with Randy Johnson (26-3, 2.15 ERA) leading their rotation.  The Big Unit may get 3 starts in this series, which could spell trouble for the Rockers.  DH Moises Alou (.266-36-126) and 3B Aramis Ramirez (.329-34-118) will test the Rockers pitching staff.  Look for this series to go 7 games.
