Bio:
I am married to my college sweetheart
and we have two sons and a daughter. We
still live in my little hometown about
an hour from Houston. I teach at a
community college here and love my job.
I’ve been playing DMB since Version 6
and have been in internet leagues since
the mid 90s. Met Greg W. in my
short-lived modern league (BPGL). I
reluctantly agreed to join his 70s
league and have had a blast from day 1.
He helped me find the BYOF and now the
TBBL.
I have been a Rangers fan since the dark
ages of the 1970s and am ecstatic that
they have turned a corner. I was so
disappointed with them in the Arod era
that I sought a patch or some 12 step
program to help me kick the Rangers
habit. When my oldest was born 11 years
ago, friends asked if I would try to
turn him into a Rangers fan. I said
“God no! Let him find his own misery.”
True to that prophecy, he has. He is an
Astros fan.
I haven’t written for a paper in 20
years, but I covered sports in Central
Texas for a couple of small and medium
size papers. I interviewed Brett Favre
when he was in college. I interviewed
Bo Jackson with the Royals and Nolan
Ryan with the Rangers. I found Rafael
Pameiro to be a cocky $#$* long before
he wagged his finger at Congress.
My favorite interview, though was with
Geno Petralli, who was a Ranger catcher
in the 80s. Like my dad did, he once
drove a truck for Dr. Pepper and really
seemed to be aware how special it was to
be paid a boatload of money to play a
game most of us would play free. |
